Marlow East has been the late sensation of the summer of the dining scene at Uptown. Happy Food lovers-recovering the night for chef Braxton decs, American colored southern dishes in a very two-level environment and in a civilized row of sidewalks.
Marlow East at Lexington Avenue and East 73rd Street, open since late May, is almost so difficult to book over Chez Fifi Lexington, Cafe Commerce and Casa.
It is more gracious than each of them, and its soft vibe and creative cuisine-but not very smart, best attracted to the tastes of the adult land than any Restaurant of the Ri-Midis Central Park and East River.
Emily Blunt filmed a scene in the dining room – last month for “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” but the house is normally filled with stylish, ordinary mortal people. There was an empty place in my three visits-and on Saturday of the weekend of work day, when the entire 10021 Zip Code supposedly accumulates in Hamptons-related jitneys.
The latest location restaurant, dissatisfied French Bistro Casimir, was closed eight years ago. The scene seemed to be shot before Elena Ristovski born of Macedonia and her husband Dragan Ristovski-which also run the Mediterranean popular restaurant Marlow Bistro in the upper West Side-Packed French Bistro Casimir. They signed a lease at the end of 2024 and fired stylist Larisa Mihajlova to create a vibrant, pleasant place from the crowd.
In contrast to Moody Chez Fifi, Cafe Coffee and Clubby Casa Tua, the two marrow Eastâ floors are abundant and ventilated with a graceful marble grass, blonde wood walls, light glossy globe, peach banks and white table covers.
The glittering mirrors reflect the neighborhood facades through the mulled windows. The doors are open on the soft Indian summer evenings for an outdoor home Vibe .â unfortunately there is nothing soft for the noise level above if you are sitting near a birthday table.
When it comes to food, Decker, who previously led the cuisine in Marlow Bistro after a two-year attack on Musket Room, drafted a modern-American menu with only enough southern and international curves to make them distinct.
“I wanted our other restaurant to be American, and Braxton is from Western Virginia,” Elena told the menu.
a thick cutting of steel trout ($ 38) â was cooked and cooked of a light consistency and placed in a light soup cheered with Littleneck pumpkins, seafood beans and bunches of beech fungi- a harmonious medley of the southern and Asian aromas.
Chicken breast ($ 38) also received video treatment, resulting in nice moist meat. Carolina Gold Rice, â house Cajun Spice, Tabasco and Okra Pickled finished tiles and delivered the down-south goods.
I received my late August corn arrangement with sweet corn agnolotti ($ 35) presented with Crab Crab and Chanterelle mushrooms. We also enjoyed a full panel of kernels ($ 13) sewed and seasoned with salt and pepper, led with cedar cheese, and sprinkled with the spicy Mexican.
But there is more for Marlow than her kitchen. For five years, Marlow Bistro in Amsterdam Avenue at 110th Street has partned with good non-profit food, providing up to 1,000 meals every Sunday in the soup kitchen at St. John’s two divine blocks in the north.
“You are shocked by how many families go there,” Elena said.
Couple plans – launch a similar program to serve local food banks by Marlow East by the end of the year.
“We believe to return to the community that we are part of it,” Elena said. “I strongly believe my main job is to make sure people are really happy.â €
Work is done well in Marlow East.
